A compact apartment reworked around soft geometry — arched niches, fluted timber and a palette held to three warm neutrals, so a small footprint reads as calm rather than crowded.
The brief was ordinary and the constraint was not: a young couple, a modest apartment, and a request that it should not feel like one.
Rather than fight the footprint, the scheme leans into it. A single material language runs through every room — cream lime plaster, pale oak, cocoa accents — so the eye is never interrupted by a change of register. Where a wall would normally hold a headboard, there is instead a deep arched recess in cocoa, lit from within. It gives the bedroom a focal point without adding an object to a room that has no space for one.
Storage does the heavy lifting. The dressing wall is a single run of slatted timber that conceals a wardrobe, absorbs the television, and holds a vanity — three functions reading as one surface. The powder room borrows the same arch motif at a smaller scale, so even the least-considered room in most homes gets the same attention as the first.
